[Baren]: The mailing list / discussion forum for woodblock printmaking Baren Digest Tuesday, 2 December 1997 Volume 01 : Number 005 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: David Bull Date: Mon, 01 Dec 1997 20:56:13 +0900 Subject: [Baren 30] Scrambled line lengths ... As you have all no doubt noticed by now, I made a bit of a mess-up of Matt's two postings yesterday, and they became very difficult to read because of strange line lengths. They are OK in the digest copy that is stored on the [Baren] home page. Go to: http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~xs3d-bull/baren/default.html follow the General Information Message, and look in the archives section. Sorry about that Matt ... This mail list server has a lot of 'features', and it's taking me a bit of time to get used to it ... I enjoyed your thoughts on the baren... poetic. I have used dried corn husks as over padded tomato sauce jar lids as a baren making exercise with students. Dick Blick Art Supplies and some other companies carry these teflon coated barens which are extremely nice. I've started rubbing often with just my hands lately I don't know why but it works out okay since I've never run an *edition* of more than five in my life --do I get kicked off the list now? :-) My interest in RIT dyes is that I get e-mail to my website sometimes from impoverished backwoods artists (seriously) with little money or access to supplies. I've even sent out *care packages* of supplies and readings from time to time... Daniel ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V1 #5 *************************
