Why should 'Japan' and 'Canada' have such a different view of this sort of thing? A couple of major libraries 'here are collecting my prints (one of them a 'National ...' institution), and a recent magazine story on my printmaking project was headlined 'Japanese Culture ... in good hands'. There are two things that motivate me. One is my work and the creative process and the second it to be around when that public art gallery asks for the work.
