Baren Digest Thursday, 23 April 1998 Volume 03 : Number 135 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: David Bull Date: Wed, 22 Apr 1998 23:57:23 +0900 Subject: [Baren 664] Take a look at these prints ... I found another good one this evening ... Charlotte Jones, a Canadian woodblock artist, displaying her work on a gallery page at: http://www.wordplay.com/gallery/artists/cjones/ Very interesting prints. Please go and have a look at them. Graham, do you know anything about her? She mentions the name 'Sawai'; is this the same man you've been working with? Very interesting to see your workspace all laid out. I was also glad to see the additional info in the directory section. Are these prints all from your collection? ***** I've been working my fingers to the bone and have abandoned sleep of late to prepare for this, so I may as well make you all aware the following: Creative Artists Network's SPRING EXHIBITION sponsored by Fox, O'Brien, Rothschild & Frankel, LLP and partially funded by The Pennsylvania Council on the Arts and The Philadelphia Cultural Fund 6 May to 19 June 1998 (opening reception 6 May from 5:30 to 7:30pm) at The Creative Artists Network The Barclay, 237 South 18th Street, Suite 3A Philadelphia PA 19103 exhibiting artists: Joseph Brenman Robert H. Motes Scott Jackson James Mundie Diana Lehr Debra Rosenblum Daniel Marder Michelle Strader Brian McCutcheon Timi Sullivan Beth Sutherland I will be debuting several new woodcuts and three drawings (soon to be prints, whether woodcuts or etchings I can't yet decide) from my "Prodigies" series: "Twins for the Master of the Parrot", "Dutch Still Life with Prince Nicholai" and "A Pinhead for H.H.". The drawings were finished last night and dropped off to my photographer today to document before I frame them (I like to live close to the edge, apparently). I plan to spend the rest of today trying to flesh out the woodcut editions a bit. If any of you should be passing through Philadelphia during the exhibition dates, please do drop in and have a look. C.A.N.'s gallery is open Monday through Friday from 9am to 5pm, which usually means that I myself am unable to see the show after the opening reception.
