As you can guess by my earlier postings I have been very excited about finding Aiko's Art Supplies so close to my home. They specialize in importing traditional japanese hand-made tools and papers. I quote from their catalog: "Just as it was some forty years ago when we served our first customers, we still take great pride in introducing the best of Japan's handcrafted items while they are still available. It is quite possible that we may be the last people to enjoy seeing and working with these beautiful, handmade items ". Today was the day ! I made some excuse to the family about going out to get some treats at our favorite swedish bakery (which is conveniently only 10 blocks from Aiko's!!!) and just like that I had a perfect alibi for disappearring for the next few hours. I made the necessary stop at the bakery , loaded up with goodies and then proceeded down to Aiko's. This was a bit of a task! The store is a couple of blocks south of Wrigley Field and for those non-baseball fans reading this, the Chicago CUBS and the Atlanta BRAVES are playing game number three of the baseball playoffs tonight. Although I was driving down at least four hours prior to game time, traffic and parking was horrendous. I ended up parking illegally, in a tow-away zone and left my blinkers on the whole time I was inside the store. Like I said, today was the day and nothing was going to stop me! I walked into the store and ......... Next part: Papers, papers, papers everywhere ! Which to choose ?
