Hi, Could someone send me the web site url? I love this list but need to unsub for awhile due to time pressures at the moment. thanks, and apologies for this "off-topic" message, Jean --- (Editor's note: It's http://www.woodblock.com/forum) ------------------------------ From: mkrieger@mb.sympatico.ca Date: Sat, 28 Nov 1998 12:12:54 -0600 Subject: [Baren 2218] Printing positions Hi Roger When I hand print, I do it on the floor. I put the block on the floor and kneel in front of it. This solved the irritating problem of my studio table vibrating and wiggling as I worked on it. It also greatly decreased the amount of effort and increased by control because of the shift in my center of gravity relative to the block. I got the idea from watching a now mostly forgotten documentary of an artist working on the floor. The only problem is that kneeling is not the easiest posture. Gain something, lose something, I guess. Now remember I am hand printing using oil base inks so I need far more effort to transfer the ink than with printing with a baren, dampened paper and starch paste.
