Subject: [Baren 2394] moisture absorption in the block 

Dave,
It occurred to me the other day to ask whether the boxwood insert in your
new surimono block absorbs and/or releases moisture at a different rate
than the surrounding cherry?  If this is the case, does that pose warping
and splitting problems?  Boxwood being a very hard wood, I'm inclined to
guess that it would absorb moisture more slowly than the cherry, which I
suppose would pose a registration problem if it involved color blocks...
right?
