Interesting to see Horacio's prints the other day, and most interesting
to see the different kind of prints being done by three of the newest
members of [Baren].

Herry Dim, Osvaldo Jalil, and now Horacio Soares-Neto are all doing very
political prints, in strong contrast to the more purely decorative work
that most of the other members are doing.

Woodblock printmaking certainly does have a political facet in its
history, but I for one had kind of thought that was all in the past. 

I'd very much like to hear from you three gentlemen (or anybody else of
course) about your thoughts on this: in this new world of CNN and
instant images from all over the world, does woodblock printmaking
really have a role to play in current political affairs?
