Baren Digest Sunday, 11 July 1999 Volume 08 : Number 624 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "Jean Eger" Date: Sat, 10 Jul 1999 10:29:31 -0700 Subject: [none] Welcome Bobbie, I am a big fan of the work of Yuji Hiratsuka, whose incredible etchings frequently grace print shows in the Bay Area. I did not know he was teaching at Oregon State. Anyway, I look forward to seeing your work online one of these days. Congrats on joining the Northwest Print Council. If you volunteer for their activities, you will find your life greatly enriched with the association of other printmakers. That was my experience in the California Society of Printmakers. This Baren online group has also been a big motivator for me, so I hope it will inspire you also. Yes, Fumi and Himi are making their big annual contribution to the life of printmakers worldwide. Thanks, ladies, for your work on the web site! Thanks especially for taking such good pictures of making the little brushes for your dad! I think printmaking tends to be an old persons' activity, so it gives me a hopeful feeling to see young people get involved. He has been an important influence on me also. Though I can't see myself getting there in the near future. I would like to find out more. Is there a web site, or an address where I can get information for future workshops. All the best with it and I hope we get to se the results. He also seems to have an address in San Antonio, Texas, 9318 Oak Downs, San Antonio, Texas 78230, 210- 349-6470. I don't know how often they have workshops, but he would be the person to speak to. Hope that is helpful, and hope I will have an opportunity to share all that I learn from this experience, and of course to show new work. Will keep you informed.
