To those that asked me to pass on the info on the used-presses, I am sorry, I left the phone & address at home. I will bring it in tomorrow and privately email those that requested the info. I talked to the guy yesterday after I got home and he told me he found a a large can of roller & blankets cleaner so I probably will be going back to pick that up. To refresh your memory, this is a gift for my mother-in-law, who will be 90 this weekend. I will be bringing this book to her party to give to her. It includes stories in her own words that we had collected on tape four years ago, as well as scanned- images of drawings she did as a girl in school. The cover woodcut is from a photo of her as a child in which she is sitting in a large group of young people. Here is where the computer helped. I zoomed in and plucked her out of the crowd, then turned it backwards and played with it until it looked closer to a drawing with light and dark shadows. This then became my reference for the woodcut. It was a lot of work, but worth it. I like how it turned out. http://www.woodblock.com/forum/messageboard/guestbook.html Thanks, Dave, for letting me show everyone this project. The only reason that the print would be uneven is that the block is not evenly type high this can be compensated by packing under the block or beneath the tympan. Some of my prints can now be found on Maria Arango's site @ http://www.printmakingstudio.com I have found some one to make my own site and he said that it should be ready in about a week. All of the woodcuts were printed on a vandercook except Storyteller and Fortune and the Traveler which were done on an etching press.
