Okay, now here come the puns... Does anyone have any leads for me? Can anyone point me in the right direction? Can someone throw me a line? Could anyone help set me up? Can you help me chase some down? I mean, they seem to create 10 to 12 works in the same style or genre. Is it my imagination or just a coincidence? I don't knowingly work this way and am wondering if it is a mistake. dan dew ------------------------------ From: "pwalls1234" Date: Sun, 5 Mar 2000 21:08:21 -0600 Subject: [Baren 8751] Re: To be aseries, or... charset="iso-8859-1" Dan, I newbie-too. By series do you mean a number of images dealing with a specific issue, subject, or what-not?? Or do you mean a number of prints that styalistically appear to be similar??? Personally I think many of us strive to work through an idea and a series is a logical step towards understanding our thoughts. The end result may be a bunch of pictures that are similar in style and for some this exporation will continue for months, years, decades. At the same time we are aloud to throw away any ideas (prints) that don't work and try another path. I don't know if this helps or answers your question but hey that is what I got to say - and I think it is a good question because one of the questions an artist must ask themselves is when to push on and for how long to explore an idea and when is it time to move on :-) pete baton rouge ------------------------------ From: ArtfulCarol@aol.com Date: Sun, 5 Mar 2000 22:40:37 EST Subject: [Baren 8752] Re: To be aseries, or... Another newbie- I work in a series because as I'm working I get more ideas to develop, related the the first concept. (Also hope the print improves) So I stay with it until I feel I've gone as far as I can at that time, or until a different idea compels me to change. Sometimes I have to stop because I dont have the know-how to do what I want to do. Every personality finds the way that works best for them. I like series. They build on themselves. Let me put it that way, Dan! It's nice to play the guitar, but you do need to conduct an orchestra from time to time... It's another question whether you can or can not... Dimitris - --- "Daniel L.
