Opened it with Acrobat Reader 3 (no Japanese letters) then downloaded the Japanese characters from Adobe. Then found out I had to have Acrobat Reader 4 to use the Japanese fonts. Now #4 opens it & it has Japanese characters - but I do not know if they are readable *or* intact, as I cannot read Japanese. My solution was to e-mail Matsumura & have a hard copy catalogue sent to me. I will have one of our Japanese students at Marylhurst University translate it for me. Is this any help? :-) Wanda ------------------------------ From: =?iso-8859-1?q?dimitris=20grammatikopulos?= Date: Tue, 14 Mar 2000 08:29:47 -0800 (PST) Subject: [Baren 8865] Re: Matsumura-san's catalog Yes, it could have been, Wnda! If your acrobat reader displays japanese characters and not the usual nonsens mixed of numbers and signs, you can be sure that it is displayed correctly. In this case you do not need to order a hardcopy as Dave wrote that they are identical. michael ------------------------------ From: Wanda Date: Tue, 14 Mar 2000 16:34:16 -0800 Subject: [Baren 8869] Re: Matsumura-san's catalog dimitris grammatikopulos wrote: > > Where did you e-mail Matsumura? Why, in Japan, of course. Heehee, sorry, couldn't resist. I just looked around on the web page until something looked likely, clicked on it & when a "send mail" thing came up - I wrote for a catalog. In "plain speak" as Dave says. They wrote back, warning me it was all in Japanese, but I think if I have pictures, sizes & prices - I can blunder through even without translations. Could get some nice surprizes that way. Or not. :-) Printed my "Ju nin to iro" print today. I've been working on it so long that I can't tell if it's any good or not. Maybe next year, I'll look at it again. I'll be sending it off on Thursday. Really looking forward to seeing what the rest of you came up with on this one. Also, really looking forward to the "no theme" exchanges!
