No.....I did not fly somewhere and took my exchange prints with me on the flight....nor did I take my prints over to Michael Jordan's house for a look (Air Jordan lives a few blocks away from where I work...). Actually I was invited to take part on a cable TV talk show on how local communities are using the internet. This show was in association with the Internet library network (http://listserv.nslsilus.org/index.html and http://www.skokienet.org/) that supports the Chicago area. The show will air on the Chicagoland and surrounding communities. Besides talking about the web sites I have created for the local youth groups, I also talked about the Baren group (as an international community of artists), the Baren Exhibition in Skokie and was also able to display to the TV camera many of the prints from exchange #5. Is this a first ?.....Baren exchange prints on TV ? The one-hour show was filmed last night but won't air till August.......stay tuned to your cable stations!!!!! Thanks...Julio Talk about FUNNY........the last print I held up for the camera was my own "Paradise Island".....don't know if it was unexpected or what....perhaps the print subject (?).......but the host and the two other panel members had big smiling grins in their faces after I held that print up.... ------------------------------ From: "Daniel L. Found an old lino block, 9x12, I had cut a few years ago. Never ran an edition cause it never made me like it enough to print too many. Funny, the block/design has to like itself before I print it. Uh oh, sounding like an artist again. I'm up to the 5th color. Looks neat. Oil is another animal from water based ink. Can't wait for the next exchange. You know its mean to make us wait for the theme Dave :-) For myself and a personal commitment I made many moons ago, these exchanges are a HUGE exercise for me. Not physically, but mentally. Someday I'll have my own site and I'll post my "vision", this just doesn't seem like the place. Suffice to say, trying to tie the Baren and other exchange themes into my "vision" is a challenge, but one I am enjoying tremendously. I hope I spelled that right. By the way, Lisa is doing great on medication. The doctors feel that as long as the lump doesn't grow, they don't need to cut it out. Back to the clean up. Enjoying the cleaning techniques, will try some on the next color. dan dew tampa, fl ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V11 #1061 *****************************
