Did you buy it through the mail or from a shop? If you got it at a shop, you might take a piece back with you to try and match it up, or possibly the sales person would know? Good Luck. String bags full of oranges And things within the heart Calamities evaporate and memories depart. People laugh at anything. And things just fall apart." It was accompanied by one of his little funny cartoons. As a forum and information site it's wonderful - and that's dependant on it being open and accessible. Fees would certainly stuff this up. We all get different things out of doing stuff voluntarily so let's just enjoy the benfits of everyone's free labour, philanthropy and enthusiasm. (Congratulations to all those who have done so much with and for this group.) If some one wants to raise funds for something let's do it on a case by case basis and shun the establishment of yet another bureacracy. And then the artist can decide whether or not to enter based on a clear idea of the cost. Rarely does one get solicited for donations after the fact. Perhaps we should establish a policy that the cost of the exhibtion to each individual be announced before the fact. People who want to hang an exhibition are welcome to do so at their own expense, otherwise. People who have never done that before will soon find out that it is a lot of work and there are expenses involved. In the California Society of Printmakers, there is usually a charge of at least $20 for various show expenses, including printing the postcard invitations. Within the CSP there is no charge for jurying an individual show, only if one's print is selected, at least while I was on the board. All these print societies have guidelines for exhibitions. I would be interested in reading others' guidelines.
