Its about $11 for a little bottle. I remember those posts about problems with its toxicity. Its supposed to cause deafness which I found very interesting. My family were big users of this in England when i was a girl and deafness runs in the family mambers who used to use it. The smell is very nostalgic for me. This has already arrived in my e-mail this morning: "We used to carry the wintergreen oil (Methyl salicylate). I will have to check and see if we still have a source for it, and what the minimum quantities would be for us to purchase. I suspect that it will present no problems. As soon as I get some answers, I'll contact you via e-mail." It would be great to have them as a supplier! They are my main source of ink, tools, paper, and other printmaking supplies. With Surimono print #5 finally out of here I've spent the last couple of evenings putting a new section in my personal website. This is by popular demand (well actually, it was one person who asked, but he's pretty popular with me ...), and is a section showing my first printmaking efforts. Eh? Who wants to see _that_ stuff? Well, nobody really ... but the progress up the ladder from nowhere to becoming a professional printmaker might be of some interest ... Anyway, there it is: http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~xs3d-bull/main_page.html You'll see the new link called 'Where I've Been' Dave ------------------------------ From: Gayle Wohlken Date: Thu, 17 Aug 2000 10:07:16 -0400 Subject: [Baren 11002] Re: Baren Digest V12 #1116 tranferring images to boards Can you transfer images from a laser printed copy to a board for cutting? A fantastic story of persistence and love of the process unfolded. So glad that you gave up the Toy business and gave us the chance to see your Grand Pursuit!!!! Do not miss the trip folks, you will come away, inspired!!!!! http://www.asahi-net.or.jp/~xs3d-bull/main_page.html Thanks, Jeanne N. ------------------------------ From: Andrea Cuchetto (Dega) Date: Thu, 17 Aug 2000 13:15:09 -0400 Subject: [Baren 11004] Re: Transfer Sharen, You must live where I was raised (such a puny world!). I was planning a visit back home last year, prior to taking a printmaking class in Little Rock (Arkansas), and thought I would get some of my supplies from Graphic Chemical while I was there. I asked my professor and he said he gets a better price on products made by Graphic Chemical from the Renaissance company (on the east coast?). Anyway, the reference to wintergreen oil may be moot, but I thought the pricing issue was worth mentioning. best, Andrea - ---- On Thu, 17 Aug 2000, slinder@mediaone.net (slinder@mediaone.net) wrote: > > > Graphic Chemical is located quite close to where I live in the > Chicago area, and last evening I wrote to them about supplying > wintergreen oil. > Sharen > > ________________________________________________ Get your own "800" number - Free Free voicemail, fax, email, and a lot more http://www.ureach.com/reg/tag ------------------------------ From: "Daniel L. Someday, when I have my own site, I hope to do something similar. Recooperating from root canal by printing, is there something wrong with that? Back to the pain pills and the presses. dan dew P.S. thanks for all the advice: sanded the block, changed to some Japanese rice paper and all seems to be going fine. Next I'll try that "majic goop" stuff. ------------------------------ From: Cucamongie@aol.com Date: Thu, 17 Aug 2000 22:30:34 EDT Subject: [Baren 11008] print on ebay Hi folks, one of my prints, called "Three Dogs in a Truck" is on auction on ebay - this was a print which I donated to North Shore Animal League, a wonderful organization which adopts out animals and takes care of otherwise "unadoptable" animals, eg ones with major physical problems, etc. Anyway, if you're interested in having a look you can go to www.nsal.org then click on the ebay icon and it will take you to an ebay page which lists the items which North Shore has on auction. best wishes Sarah ------------------------------ From: Artsmadis@aol.com Date: Fri, 18 Aug 2000 00:28:35 EDT Subject: [Baren 11009] Re: Transfer Wintergreen oil [methyl salicylate] available from http://www.chemistrystore.com/methyl_salicylate.htm $12.00 a quart.
