Well there are two to choose from..... Adobe Photoshop 5.5 and Adobe Photoshop 5.5 They are expensive but excellent software. It is truly the benchmark. Has a big learning curve. The other suggestion is GraphicConverter which is a shareware and cost about 35.00 You can download this at http://www.lemkesoft.com/ Smaller learning curve. If you are not going to start doing professional work this program will work tickity boo. Certain the price is right. Have fun Graham ------------------------------ From: Artsmadis@aol.com Date: Sat, 09 Sep 2000 20:57:45 EDT Subject: [Baren 11243] Re: Software I recommend Corel Photo House 3. Lets you see the size of the file, alter colors, etc. Lets you choose compression. Also lets you choose file format and lets you see what the compressed image looks like. Don't know about cost. Probably find out at Corel.com Darrell ------------------------------ From: Wanda Date: Sat, 09 Sep 2000 18:57:25 -0700 Subject: [Baren 11244] Yuri's birch plywood blocks Hi all, I started carving one of the little birch blocks from Yuri. He did not exaggerate at all, it really carves nice! Some of my American birch is kind of tough & splintery - this seems to be firm, but not as *hard* to carve. I'm going to do a hanga print on one side & an oil print on the back. I'll let you know the results when they are finished. Thanks Yuri! The word around the Mac Club is go carefully on buying their product for the time being. Let them get their house in order. Adobe PhotoDeluxe will do re-size, format change, a little touch-up, and at a much smaller cost. The trouble was finally diagnosed by Dr Watson as "Adobe Photo Deluxe has altered system files."
