We can't allow that to happen on the _inside_. Dave, as I'm looking at those photos, especially the one we are speaking of here, I'm kind of confused. It looks like you are using the flat edge on the waste side of the line and it's CAUSING squeezing and damage. Didn't you just say the flat edge prevents that? Am I looking at that photo wrong? ------------------------------ From: Aqua4tis@aol.com Date: Sat, 16 Sep 2000 15:20:36 EDT Subject: [Baren 11335] Re: arthur wesley dow. there was also an article with pictures of his lovely woodcuts in a recent american art review i have the magazine here somewhere ill see if i can scan it if you like im off to ruths show georga ------------------------------ From: ArtfulCarol@aol.com Date: Sat, 16 Sep 2000 20:22:29 EDT Subject: [Baren 11337] Re: Baren Digest V12 #1144 3 profiles was the one I told Mike I liked so much also. Enjoyed viewing all the prints in #6 Exchange. Less lurking and more working would help me to make a larger edition and be part of an exchange. What you are seeing in that photo is the _bevel_ side of the knife on the waste side; the same side of the knife is clearly shown in the immediately preceding photo. (the fourth and fifth photos on the page at: http://woodblock.com/surimono/process/process_2.html) Gayle, maybe the photos on the page at: http://woodblock.com/encyclopedia/entries/015_02/015_02_frame.html ... will show the idea more clearly.
