Subject: [Baren 11565] Santa just came. 

Gosh, I went into the lumber yard where I purchase my basswood and 
they were pulling a new shipment of cherry off the truck.....

OOOooooo  ---- A 14" x 2"  x 12 foot long (two small knots) chuck of cherry.
Did I stick my name on it.... YES.
Gawd if feel rich.

I am now looking for a person to resaw it and then run it through a 
planer.... mine won't handle 14" boards.   I will end up with 3/4" 
boards.... OOOOooooo
It will probably cost me around 12.00 for the finished product.
Cheap price to pay for a treasure.

Subject: [Baren 11569] Baren calendars 

I waited about a week or so (for those once in a while lurkers....) but there
does not seem to be enough interest
to startup a side project on a Baren calendar for this year.  Based on the 4 or
5 responses I have, perhaps with
better planning next year.  Many of us are tight up with exchanges, postcard
swaps and the up and coming holidays....
some of us are just tight up {;-)

I may still give it a go on a more personal basis and would like to hear from
anyone interested and/or working on similar
projects....thanks to all who responded to my initiative....
