I will be asking for as much critique as possible. I felt it was a well balanced piece and probably could be carved better, but I lack a lot of experience on wood so why redo and redo when I think it is interesting. I am here to learn. I used the cheap linocut tools I have and will be looking to buy some decent cutting tools for wood down the road. I did this print western style and used oil based ink. The paper is acid free, lana. It is thin but not truly a fine spendy paper. I wanted something that is acceptable to the baren and yet not too spendy because I am such an amatuer at woodblock. Moving, I am going to the washington coast. It is a place called Nahcotta and I just returned from several days there. It is on a Peninsula and the house I will eventually live in is on a bay. In the mean time much will go in storage as I have to make do with a 2 bedroom mobile home and a boat in the Portland Oregon area. Indeed it is a busy time, to try and clean , do a garage sale and get out of town to mow and do work on a new place. So I grabbed a couple of days alone, but not enuf time was available for me to finish my series. So for the novice woodblock printer what are the best cutting tools to buy? Remember I am not doing water based, but rather oil based and am working western style at this time. Down the road i would like to learn more about the Asian methods and take a work shop , but for now?
