Baren Digest Sunday, 21 October 2001 Volume 17 : Number 1593 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "G. That must have been difficult to design, making sure all the black and white elements worked, playing off each other. Very nice, indeed. By the way, I'm having a lot of trouble with Netscape 6 (new to me). The old way would let me copy sections of email and paste it to new emails. Now I have to put the whole message in and delete sections and it's terrible because if I goof up and pick the wrong section, I have to start all over again writing a whole new message and deleting all over again. That's why I don't have a proper reference to your post. I meant to include the URL to your page, again, but having left only that one sentence (having deleted the rest) would mean starting all over again. This is extremely frustrating. Does anyone else have this problem? Everytime Netscape changes to something they think is better, the mail becomes less and less flexible in what you can do. For instance, you used to be able to stop Spellcheck if you wanted to go back and fix something you notice, now you can't do that unless you go up into preferences and change the whole setting so that Spellcheck isn't activated at all. Spellcheck now is such a bully. It makes you send when you don't feel ready. I like netscape better but not 6.0 Barbara > By the way, I'm having a lot of trouble with Netscape 6 (new to me). > ------------------------------ From: Graham Date: Sat, 20 Oct 2001 10:04:54 -0700 Subject: [Baren 16005] Re Browsers and E-mail Hi Gayle, My programs for internet and e-mail or stand a-lones. Netscape is used by Marnie of online bank transaction and only with one ... Bank of Montreal...they seem to be single minded about adopting any other browser. All others are programmed to use Explorer/Netscape. My recommendation is the use Explorer. For me it is more user friendly and a lot more intuitive. I only use it for surfing the net by the way. For e-mail I prefer Eudora. The light version compared to the pro version has one difference. There is a small window that appears on you monitor that carries advertising blurbs in the Free light version. It drove me bonkers so spent the $ for the Pro. There is a spell checker with the program. I don't use it much....(ya I know, I should) but prefer a stand along Spell Checker is most versatile.... You are right about spell checker in netscape... yuk If you decide to switch from Netscape to Explorer you can capture all you Bookmarks in N. and move them to Explorer. Let me know if you need more help.
