I'm here in Jacksonville, FL which is pretty much a big Navy town...alot of patriotic spirit here....also a strong small art community. I'm sure we could have a successful showing here. I'll make some inquiries and get back to you by the end of the week. . I'm also working on my image. Also, I know it's not quite right to toot my own horn, but one of my prints won a prize in a juried non-members exhibition at the Pen & Brush Club in NYC (which was quite a surprise, it's pretty funky!). If you want to see the print, it's called La Vision du Bouledogue Numero Un, and the webpage is http://www.womanmade.org/show.html? best wishes Sarah Hauser ------------------------------ From: "bemason" Date: Tue, 13 Nov 2001 19:38:05 -0800 Subject: [Baren 16138] prize Good Job Sarah, Congratulations!!!! A great boost to the moral. This art world is tough and we all need to be recognized for our efforts. Congratulations. Would you please explain the following as detailed with the image. Pigment stick rubbing from woodblocks My interpretation is you carve the plate and then rather than ink and print you rub the paper that is placed on the plate. !!!! All very interesting. One other question .... You do not have the size of the editions defined on the site. Is there a reason for this? Regards Graham/Sidney BC An Island in the Pacific Home of the Boot Camp PS Just so you know.... Give a man a fire, and he'll be warm for a day. But, set him on fire, and he'll be warm for the rest of his life! >howdy y'all, my horsey prints went galloping out today, a little >different type of image and different technique, it's a solarplate >print. >Also, I know it's not quite right to toot my own horn, but one of my >prints won a prize in a juried non-members exhibition at the Pen & >Brush Club in NYC (which was quite a surprise, it's pretty funky!). >If you want to see the print, it's called La Vision du Bouledogue >Numero Un, and the webpage is >http://www.womanmade.org/show.html?type=solo&gallery=animals2001&pic=1 > >best wishes >Sarah Hauser ------------------------------ From: Ray Hudson Date: Wed, 14 Nov 2001 05:36:10 -0500 Subject: [Baren 16140] Sarah's prints Wonderful, Sarah! First out of the gate--seems to me your delightful dancing snakes were the first to slither out last year! Your prints are so delightful & every time I see them I am glad all over that I was in the same exchange as the Woman with 3 dogs in Central Park.
