Thanks, Graham ------------------------------ From: "Daniel L. Dew" Date: Fri, 23 Nov 2001 13:46:24 -0500 Subject: [Baren 16204] Excited Guilt? I am so excitied and yet feel so guilty! Behave Graham [;-)] I am working on two animal prints at the time, both rather smallish, 4" x 6" max, very close up faces. The eyes though are so different from the rest of the print, so I painted them! Not on the print, but on the block and then printed. Is this considered acceptable? I know that this is similar to what the Hanga folks do, sorta painting on the block, but in western style? Anyway, it came out awesome and has opened my eyes to similar solutions to other problems. Comments? P.S. I printed a bunch of extras of my Fireman Benefit prints, took them to a local framer, who is willing to donate frames. We are then going to give them to the local firehouses, allowing them to sell them and more for their "benevolence" fund. I noticed way back when that many said they were going to do and donate prints, is everyone still on board? - -- Daniel L. Sure why not its your print.... In hanga it is called Goma technique... All very legal and kosher. Look at http://members.home.net/gscholes/kains.html the clouds in the sky (where the heck else would clouds be) were done this way. What did you use for the paint. This sounds interesting to me. I'm planning to go to the Magic Bird Festival in Scottsdale, AZ on Dec. 7th (Friday). I'm in Tucson. I'm planning a carpool; if you want to go and need a ride, let me know. Maria Arango will be there in all of her prolific and articulate glory. Cheers, Kim Medina ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V17 #1627 *****************************
