I also would like to learn something about the japanese methods as i have never done them. Did my first wood cut in the 60's when i was in high school. I have been doing oily things for 35 years so i think i got the oily thing down but i have never done the Japanese method think it would be cool to learn something. When can we expect feedback? > > Graham > Regards We haven't settled on any details until we see what interest there is and what most folks want to do. But the plan is not to have a "fee" for the exchange of expertise, that is, there will be knowledgeable folk there who will guide those of us who know not. The plan so far is for everyone to bring their own stuff, with probably some community property in regards to pigments, paste, and so on. I think as we gel these ideas we will probably make a "recommended supplies list." As far as the free accommodations, there are two floors (and I do mean literally 'floors') available, one for boys and one for girls with bathrooms somewhere in the picture. No bunks, no furniture, no bed no breakfast, no frills, sort of indoor camping; bring your own pad, sleeping bag, folding chair, hot-pot and coffee maker and changing pop-up tent (well, that's MY list, anyway). These rooms are, as I understand it, used for karate lessons and other assorted activities. The rooms will be vacant while we are there and can accommodate around 20 people. Mike will not charge us a fee to stay there. He will have pictures sometime in the future. So far 33 people have responded with 10 "definites" and 16 "needing details." Of the 10, 9 want to camp, so it should be a bunch of fun. Survey sounds very promising so far! http://barenforum.org/survey/survey.html Maria <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> Maria Arango Las Vegas, Nevada, USA http://www.1000woodcuts.com maria@mariarango.com <><><><><><><><><><><><><><> ------------------------------ From: pulpfic@sunshinecable.com Date: Thu, 07 Mar 2002 20:46:34 -0800 Subject: [Baren 17373] Re: Hello >To: Graham >From: pulpfic@sunshinecable.com >Subject: Re: Hello >Cc: >Bcc: >X-Attachments: > >Hi Graham, > >I've only been lurking for a couple of weeks, and as an Almost-Beginner at (nearly) Woodcutting, I've had more to absorb than contribute.
