I'd love to drive down theere and visit you and the southern CA bareners. I already have a job lined up for Friday. I'll be in Santa Barbara this weekend doing other stuff... Hurts to be so close and miss meeting up with you all, but my flights were set months ago and there's no spare time to run around... Maybe email me your phone number, Bea, just in case I can get away for a few hours? Georgia called and she said we were still on for Friday. But please if you are in any discomfort, we are willing to postpone it again until you are completely healed. But if it still O.K. with you, I am looking forward to it. Should we bring anything? And could I have directions, I think I will drive myself, instead of meeting Georgia because a good friend of mine had a serious surgery on Tuesday and I would like to visit him when we are through at UCLA. When I come into the "city" I try to combine things . Also, could I have directions to your house. See you tomorrow around 10 ish if I don't hear to the contrary. She called me when all the confusion about #13 happened but I didn't get her number. I'd love it if you could come by this weekend - I would enjoy meeting you. My phone number is (323) 660-0106 and my cell is (323) 805-5882. Enjoy beautiful Santa Barbara if you can't come down here. My garden is lovely right now so you might enjoy the trip down if you can get away. Jean, it would be fun to do this again in the summer. I'd love for you to come down and if I get up to San francisco I'll be in touch. I have used a lot of your information in learning hanga - so you will be here in absentia. Bobbie I'll send you directions to my house - look for it. Looking forward to tomorrow. When you're done at your house, please everyone, come on over to the Greater Cincinnati, OH, northern Kentucky area and you can continue hanga workshop here with good friends and fun! Wouldn't that be great! Maybe someday we can make it happen with any other bareners from our surrounding cities and states - like Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, West Virginia, Tennessee... Saturday was a perfect day with cherries in bloom, also wisteria, lilacs and azaleas. Big crowds, all wanting to know about our wonderful technique. Sunday rain, bit I was so tired I wasn't too disappointed. I made a couple of big posters to display in front of our tables, one side with the article I wrote on moku hanga for Printmaking Today, and the other side with the article Bea Gold wrote for Baren Suji. Both sides were illustrated with Sarah's and my prints. We had lots of readers, so I was glad I went to the trouble. Last year I handed out fliers, this was easier, and helped people find where we were. Good luck with your west coast baren meeting, Bea!
