No deixe de ir , se puder. Por isso bom morar no Rio de Janeiro, essa cidade maravilhosa, onde se encontram os maiores crnios do pas. Murilo, from Floripa. Great people, I was just telling to Horacius to go to a lecture about the equivocal understanding of what today is called "contemporary art", and that now is beggining to be discussed. The lecturer is the great brazilian writer and professor Dr. Afonso Romano de Santana. Since January he is writing on his Saturday " O Globo" newspaper column about this subject that goes trough the question of "what to print, what to paint, what to do now when there is established what "contemporary art" is: simple mimicry. ------------------------------ From: "marilynn smih" Date: Mon, 19 Aug 2002 12:40:39 -0700 Subject: [Baren 18947] Re: Baren Digest V20 #1918 Send all 14a mail to: Marilynn Smith PO Box 71 Nahcotta, Wa 98637 I am still back and forth to Portland, but my postal ladies are watching for large packages and will happily hold them for me as they enjoy seeing the art work. If you are renting your studio call your insurance company and see how your liability insurance works, they can give you the best advice. I didn't mean to stir up such an off the subject debate! But I would like to express my opinion about the differences between stone and aluminum plate lithography. Yes, I know the graining of the stones can be messy but you can do this at a regular sink - I have done this at the Museum of Printing History in Houston - and you can use another stone instead of a levigator. I also enjoy the exercise! Also, you can use the stones many, many times. I think the aluminum plates can only be used once. I am selling these stones to help raise funds to move StoneMetal Press to permanent location in San Antonio.
