Baren Digest Saturday, 18 January 2003 Volume 22 : Number 2099 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: "marilynn smih" Date: Fri, 17 Jan 2003 20:21:00 -0800 Subject: [Baren 20474] Re: Baren Digest V22 #2091 David Bull and John Amoss, I am behind on reading my digests due to our southern trek to baja sur mexico, so I may be late and oddly behind in responding to your query as to whether your subject is appropriate for moku hanga printing. Peraonally I found your print very beautiful. I loved watching the step by step progress, it was very instructive. Beauty as they say is in the eye of the beholder. My non artist, non print maker husband stated that it looked like a labor of love. (but he is really more creative than he admits and knows the meaning of a labor of love). That to me says it all, it is beauty because it is indeed done with love. No one can say, truly no one - in my opinion - what is indeed beautiful. Perhpaps our world has changed and so also our ideas and concepts of beauty. Besides, as the world changes so should our art.
