You have a winning combination: water color and wood cut! One will support the other (emotionally and intellectually, I mean). There's a lot to learn on Baren. No question is too basic. I hope you intend to participate in the print exchanges. THAT's where a lot of learning comes in--with edition printing! Your wife will love the portfolios. Jean Womack > My name is Ignasi Serrahima. I grew up in Barcelona, visited Madrid several times. Unfortunately I was too young to care about art, so I didn't get the benefit of the rich culture in Espa–a. Any case, keep an eye out for exchange deadlines and also go to the barenforum.org site for tons of information and schedules on the exchanges. And speaking of which! I just received my latest Swap Shop bundle and the prints are lovely indeed. Thanks all who participated. I'm already gathering my next batch to send to the Swap Shop Swami: Mr. James Mundie. I love these little gems! I may even venture forth another try at moku-hanga for the next one. Maria PS On the PUZZLE PROJECT, if you have not yet received your block please email me. If you have received your block and have not told me so, please email me. I am still missing confirmation of receipt from about 6 puzzled people. <||><||><||><||><||><||> Maria Arango Las Vegas Nevada USA www.1000woodcuts.com <||><||><||><||><||><||> ------------------------------ From: "Jeanne N. Somebody mentioned the Swap Shop on the Baren. A great place to get started with no deadlines and a minimum number of prints to do. Years ago I did quite a few linocuts and loved doing them, then spent about 25 years doing etchings and am looking forward now to trying wood engraving. Also looking forward , when I have a bit more time, to thoroughly exploring the Baren web page. Hello Jane, Here is the page with the info on those mysterious puzzle blocks. The deadline for this one has come and gone but...fear not! another insane project is brewing in the minds of printmakers all over the world. I will do at least one more puzzle or similar collaborative project, probably starting late next year. After that I have a completely insane idea that would be sooooooooooooooooooo much fun for the nature lovers in the group yet also of academic interest, totally intriguing...shh shh shh... ;-) Maria <||><||><||><||><||><||> Maria Arango Las Vegas Nevada USA www.1000woodcuts.com <||><||><||><||><||><||> ------------------------------ From: "Maria Diener (aka Arango)" Date: Tue, 28 Jan 2003 22:26:58 -0800 Subject: [Baren 20574] Re: Intro > Here is the page with the info on those mysterious puzzle blocks.
