Sorry to be sending this to all but I am sending this to the Baren address 
because I once got a VIRUS big time by mailing to a large group...

I have just been on the phone with Expedia.com. for what seems like forever 
and have made my reservations with them . As recommended by Mike, an 
excellent choice appears to be the Residence   Inn Union Hill by Marriott 
($88.90 per night, complimentary breakfast, complimentary parking, and you
 can cook!! ) Reservation person didnt have any info on a commmission for 
BarenForum.

I also made my flight arrangements with Expedia.com
  Check your dates on the screen carefully because their computer made  
mistakes in the dates even though it was correct on the confirmed e-mail sent 
to me.

 Rental car: Thrifty appears the best priced and I made those  reservations  
also.

Hi all...  Just a reminder -- BarenForum will NOT receive any commission if 
you make your reservations by phone or by directly logging into expedia.com 
(by typing that URL into your browser).  We only will receive a commission 
if you go to the http://www.barenforum.org/summit page and fill out the 
form and make your reservations directly from that link.

But don't sweat it, Carol, we're delighted that you've made your 
reservations and are coming regardless whether BarenForum gets a commission 
or not!  The commission's just an extra 'freebie' for Baren!

a few days ago, georga asked for thoughts on preference of
pigments, and I'm not sure if I remember all the choices, I think
it was Akua Kolor, Guerra pigment and something else (perhaps
watercolor in the tube)?? After working with both Akua Kolor and
Guerra pigment, I would opt for the Guerra pigment if I had to
choose one of these.  The Akua Kolor looks good and prints well
but can get a bit sticky.  However, if you've already gotten the
Akua kolor just go for it!  I think you also asked about color
choices if you could only choose a few.  That's hard to do
because I'd probably want a couple of yellows (hansa and I forget
what the other one is called, a more orangey yellow than hansa),
a couple of blues (ultramarine and pthalo) and a couple of reds
(a bluer red and a more orange red), plus a few earth colors such
as raw umber, burnt umber, burnt siena and raw siena.  Usually I
mix my own black or use sumi ink for black.  Other ideas, anyone?

I know that it's been a long time since your prints were sent,
but we still are waiting for a couple of sets, and the
portfolios arrived from Japan yesterday.  It will be next week
before they are collated and mailed, I think.

Soon......   BTW, I'll have to recruit one of my sons to do the
scanning.

Thanks so much to All of you who answered (on line and off) my query about 
carpal tunnel syndrome. I have been traveling since the day after my 
diagnosis and message to the Forum, so I collected your messages and am 
studying them. What a kind as well as wise group of buddies you are. I will 
need to teach myself to print water-based blocks on some sort of press. It's 
a good thing I love technical challenges, though the principal reason I 
started making woodblock prints is that it freed me from the press! Fate has 
something else in store for me, I see.

I'm looking forward to the KC summit, and hope especially to master 
sharpening my tools, either by osmosis or good advice.
