Baren Digest Sunday, 18 May 2003 Volume 23 : Number 2226 ---------------------------------------------------------------------- From: G Wohlken Date: Sat, 17 May 2003 11:02:54 -0400 Subject: [Baren 21528] MIke's visit to Japan Mike, thank you for your well-written article with great photos (are YOU ever talented, too!) of your recent trip to Japan. Having met Dave I agree with what you say about him as being deeply dedicated as well as intense, strong of mind, yet soft spoken and kind. People going to the Summit will be fortunate for having the opportunity to not only meet each other, but to meet Dave in person and see for themselves what a dynamic person he is on all fronts. Where can we get copies of these magazines? Look forward to getting copies and seeing your prints. A thought on traveling with paper. I always take paper in small sheets when I travel. I have a suitcase that is harder sided and it seems to stay pretty well layered in the bottom. This time I had thought on taking paper cut to size for smaller pieces. also one could order from the mall early and have paper shipped in to Mike, than it would be cut and printed, hopefully, for the return trip. Smaller is easier when traveling. Guess I should make a mall visit now!! I was at the questionaire a few days ago and now can't find it.? I want to buy a second hangi to. I do all my cutting with one 6.0mm and it presently has a somewhat low angle on it. Having one with a sharper angle would help my versitility in cutting, but I'm wondering whether I should get another 6.0 mm or go larger or smaller....Seems like larger would be better than smaller expecially if I start carving harder wood. Any suggestions will be appreciated. Really looking forward to the summit, and Mike, thank you for sharing your visit with John Bull.
