Dear All to whom it does concern, Gosh, it's almost time to monkey around with a new years card again...'Oh where, oh where have those 15 little sheep gone? ...?' I understand that Horacio Soares Neto is no longer with the Forum, so do not expect one from him and I just received Patsy Gicias's Bighorn yesterday (the 6th of June). Mighty handsome in black ink on that Rieves BFK. patsy! If anyone who signed up has not received my Water Ram please speak up and I will remedy the situation post haste. and yes, Julio. I am faithfully working as hard as can be on the calendar commitments...blocks for both are cut, just have to get paper and print. Really wish I could go to OZ with the rest of you (Big Sigh) but money and time make it impossible.Surely some of you will report the doings for those of us not in Kansas at the time? With LOTS of pictures, por favor? (sorry Mike, not 'shouting' just big wishing ) May all who get to Oz have the time of their lives, Carol in sacramento ------------------------------ From: Pgiclas#aol.com Date: Sat, 7 Jun 2003 14:34:20 EDT Subject: [Baren 21735] Re: Exchang #17 Barbara - I would like a case - things have been a bit chaotic here so I'm glad for the reminder. Sheep and Goat folks - Finally got my black sheep in the mail early in the week so hope everyone gets theirs soon. Working on the puzzle piece and the design for #17 now (along with 10 hours a day working at my lab). Happy summer to all and enjoy the Summit. Wish I could come. My address is okay, just needs the www. in front of the mariarango.com you can also use www.1000woodcuts.com or www.printmakingstudio.com all take you to the same place. I liked your organization, I might include the table of links in the front page, hard to know what to click on when you enter the site. I find the mixing of western and eastern methods to be very interesting as well as looking at the commerical background of al most all of our current art printing. Flexography & solor plates were developed for commerical printing as well. Letterpress (commerical relief printing) is still used for printing boxes. The quality of commerical printing ink is generally top natch except maybe for the "light fastness of some of the reds" I have found inks for letterpress printing work wonderfully for western style printing esp if done on a vandercook press.. Lets not forget that both japanese and western relief printing was a part of commerical printing at one time. john center ------------------------------ End of Baren Digest V23 #2253 *****************************
