Robin,
Don't you dare come to the Northwest without coming to see me! The
Vancouver I live in is right across the river from the Portland (Aloha)
that Barbara lives in - we are about 45 minutes from one another.
You'd better plan on staying here a few days or your name will be
spelled M-U-D. Egads! I haven't used that expression in ages - it was
something I think my dear Mum was always saying to me - I was mud
more than anything else. Maybe I should have grown up to be a potter.

Cheers!
Sharri

best wishes

Having recovered my baren, I decided to use the cutaway excess to make hakobi (bamboo fibre brushes).
I have made four little hakobi and I am very proud of them. Almost as much fun as making a print. We all read the Hanga Manga pages at David Bull's site http://woodblock.com/manga/index.html and I am here to say that the instructions are easily followed.

I had two of these brushes from the Baren mall, but my dog ate one and snapped the other, but I had enough left to copy. I have other mixing brushes but these little guys have a unique dolloping action. Plus, they are fully recycled. Highly recommended! Thanks for the tips David.

Is the Pet Exchange gallery online? We'd love to see it!

Yes, I thank you too, Barbara. If you have time to send me paper before you
leave, I would be very happy!

I gave a talk at Richard's class in Kyoto, and had a chance to see his
studio too. Fun!

Best from NY,

April
