MaryAnn, I get an "Under Construction" page at the address you give. You are listed in the Who is Baren? page.

Wow.

We just came back from attending the Adachi demonstration at the Japanese
Cultural Center in Los Angeles. We got there late, but as it turned out
that was probably for the best. You needed a reservation for the
demonstration, but as the major part was over, we were able to just walk in.

We got to handle the woodblocks and the prints, as well as some of the
tools. It was very exciting. There was a video showing how they do the
block prints from applying the drawing to cutting to inking to printing. It
was in Japanese, but it was valuable just to watch and listen to the
process. I sat thru it twice.

I wish we had arrived in time to see the prints made, but then maybe we
wouldn't have been able to get in. So I'm quite pleased with our excursion.

I highly recommend it to anyone who has the chance to go in one of the other
cities -- but call for reservations first!
