Ugh, George! You're SOOOoooo right! "CREOSOTE" was the name which popped
into my mind, but I suppose I'm starting to have 'senior moments' :)...

I really meant "HOMASOTE" !!! Homasote is a structural, sound-deadening,
light weight, ultra-tackable fiberboard, made from 100-percent
post-consumer recycled waste paper. Lumberyards and home centers stock
Homasote in varying sizes and thickness, usually 4x8 feet -- I'd recommend
1/2" thickness.

So sorry for misnaming the material -- creosote would not likely enhance
prints at all!

Mike,
I have a friend who uses these and he layers them about 6 high and sets a fan at one end to blow air through them from the one end of the layers to the other...I think he weights them to keep them in one place, and I think it dries the prints faster. His work is always flat so it must work.

WOW! Everyone!
I just wanted to thank Barbara Mason for shipping out my paper so quickly and to Mike Lyon for recommending it. It looks fantastic and I can not wait to try it!
I received one of the woddblock print cards with my order and I have to tell you all that it is beautiful! I recommend getting one for yourselves! It is crisp and has wonderful colors! They are such a gift!
Thanks for answering my questions on cherry wood. I feel better now about it.

Oh yeah, What are your feelings about printing on some nice white mulberry paper? Anyone try it? I have some (medium to thick, about 90#) and I will test it and give you my impressions.

Streching papers...
In etching, when doing multi plates for proper registration, one need to
run the paper thru the press (with a plain plate ) to strech the paper.( 2
passes , back and forth)
Flattening prints...
blotters or even archival matt board . lightly misted(on back) and layered
between blotters then weight. (I lave a large slab of marble(counter top).
I've seen a large one made with wood . like a large plant (leaf)
press..using the matt board and corregated cardboard between layers. Then a
fan can be placed to blow air thru...

Sounds like good stuff -- is it sized? Where'd you find it? If unsized,
you'll want to be careful to use plenty of paste and not too wet when you
print or the color will bleed like crazy -- kinda the way a drop of water
on paper towel or tissue will 'spread'...
