I vote for in support of my favorite cause. Everyone can have their own
cause . And they can combine it with nudes.

Cartoons? People are getting killed for them! I suggest we don't go there.

Good Morning, Bareners!

First off...
I've turned my dogs loose...
they are, at this very moment,
traveling through the worldwide postal systems
to their eventual new homes.

This was my 3rd and first "real" attempt at hanga...
this dog has survived printing problems, stress, and challenges
unlike any I anticipated
but, I believe is packed with power enough to help all he moves in with through this next year...
until the next animal steps up to the block.

I can also say, that I'm really happy to be done with it...
although....
I'll be taking my knives to him again
for tailoring...doctoring up....
and some flaming airplane glue experiments...

The idea of the cartoon exchange has peaked my interest.
All the while, working on this dog...
I wondered what on earth had possessed me to get involved with such a project...
(it's possible that ALL the time I spent on this had to do with ALL the trouble/problems I encountered..
and not being very good at it....yet...)
but, I find I'm wondering about this next exchange Mike mentioned..

Oban is about 10x15?
I can find out in the archives....
Are there rules listed anywere?

just wondering...

Cartoons or comics don't have to be political. We can make funny
ones, or super heroes or animals or anything else.

I would like to suggest that we definately DO NOT go with the causes idea.
I like what john C said. Print Making.
And to that effect I would say,
Extreme Facial expressions. I mean, very extreme. Not like smiling but maybe laughing so hard your kindeys fall out.
Here I have placed a link with examples of just what I mean. (yes, I have a lot fo time on my hands)

We did do a nude calendar project and it was really great! I vote for the
nude and hope I have enough paper down here to print one!
Than with a theme and project just maybe I will finally break this lack of
interest in doing art work. I need an exchange! So April means a 3 month
work time right???
That means it will be due some time lat spring early summer so I will be
back to do it! YEAH!!!!
Now for a piece of wood!! Ah the smell of wood and the sight of wood chips,
how exciting.

Perhaps I missed it, but I did not see Landscape in the exchange
lineup. I seem to remember an exchange that was on the nude - (the
image, not the manner of working.)

I rather like the idea of a cartoon. In lieu of that, a focus on a non-polital
cause might generate some wonderful images.

Ladys and gentlemen..
I really don't think you want to see me naked, (for I am the only one that will pose for my work)
If you choose the nude, you may be sorry. on the figure, i will only work from life, no pictures, lol.

If we do the Nude, I could probably talk my husband into collaborating
with me. He's in a figurative art program in NYC right now, so he has
all kinds of figure studies on hand. He's a painter, but this could be
just the ticket to suck him into the world of woodcuts. :)

One of the ones that people voted for way back was Creatures of the Sea.
