Hi All-
I found Gearhart's work better than Bauman's (sacrilege!) - gorgeous
sense of composition - I spent hours I couldn't afford looking for
more and came across this great site which gives nice enlargements of
the many interesting printmakers it features.
maybe some of you people have seen it :
if you click on 'selling' then
'catalogue' some lovely stuff comes
up altho' ptgs are mixed in with the prints. Some of the prices
quoted are amazingly high. Rather like Margaret Patterson is
Charlotte Rollins
- another v.painterly woodcut artist who reminds me of our own
Milne's watercolours (one example of his work there) Luigi Risst
appears to be very prolific
woodcut artist -not painterly but have a strange crossweave
pattern as if they're printed on canvas?? has anyone come across
William Ponder's
' Notes to the Hanga Printmaker'? Colwell's 'Snowbirds' apparently
a rare print is charming - has anyone heard of her? I didn't realize
that there was
such a plethora of good woodcut artists in early 20th century
America. Going to 'prints' on this site produces yet more.

Hi folks--

I would like to invite you to the upcoming exhibition of gallery artists of Woodward Gallery (the gallery which represents me).

I have work from my new series of monotypes included in the exhibition.

Following is the press release and further info about the show, including the gallery website where you can view some of the work (especially for those of you who are not local):

"Gallery Artists '06 - '07"
November 14, 2006 - January 6, 2007
Woodward Gallery
476 Broome Street, 5th Fl.
New York, New York 10013-2281 USA
Tel: (212) 966-3411
Fax: (212) 966-3491
Gallery hours: Tues-Sat 11am - 6pm

Woodward Gallery is honored to represent their group of twelve in the exhibition - "Gallery Artists '06 -'07".

Since 1994, Woodward Gallery has deeply appreciated these individual creative forces of art that affirm beauty and excellence.

Artists: Susan Breen, Deborah Claxton, Richard Hambleton, Sarah Hauser, Hiro Ichikawa, Mark Mastroianni, Margaret Morrison, Terence Netter, Jo Ellen Van Ouwerkerk, Louise Peabody, Cristina Vergano and Charles Yoder will be together for one, final exhibition at Woodward Gallery's present New York location.

Anticipating a move from their SoHo home of thirteen years, Woodward Gallery will feature signature new work to emphasize the future direction the gallery artists will continue to blaze in New York. The original contemporary artwork by these Acclaimed Artists will offer variety from abstract to urban to figurative on paper and on canvas.

Please join us for the Artists reception and meet the Gallery Artists on Tuesday, November 14th at 6-8 pm.

Hope some of you will have a chance to stop by -
All the best,
Sarah Hauser
