Just a word of warning to those of you cutting into plexiglass (perspex, etc.): high speed cutting (dremel, for example) - even filing - can release very toxic plastic fumes, so be careful. You also don't want the dust in your lungs, so wear a mask when there are little particles flying about.

Otherwise it's a great material, so have fun.

In the most recent "Printmaking Today", there is an article about
using acetate sheet instead of plexiglass ... acetate sheet is the
stuff they use for report binders in school ... just buy it in any
office supply store. The claim is that you can engrave it much more
easily with a dry point tool or needle than plexiglass because it is
softer than plexiglass. Also, it is easy to do aquatint with a bit of
sandpaper. The prints they showed were very nice. I have not tried it
myself, but it might be worth looking into ...

Cheers .... Charles

Please please please tell me- I was under the weather from a nasty auto accident and pneumonia, both od which conspired to put me in the ozone for all of December- Is the cairn project exchange # 30?
If not, what is the theme for #30?
Thanks-

Please excuse and ignore- I found what I was looking for- Right now life is very confusing- Putiing everything back in motion- I really need this exchange to focus- (and of course I meant the latest exchange, not #30)
The forum is really helping me a lot- Every print I do opens huge doors for my drawings- Soon I will have a websight up and be able to share with everyone.
