Wonderful! Thank you so much Lynita for sharing your experience in Japan. I
also met with Richard Steiner when I visited Japan, he was incredibly
generous and helpful. Congratulations on prize winning, but more important,
congratulations for making the most of the opportunity! It sounds like a
wonderful trip, I was happy to hear news of Richard Steiner and David

Plus, I thank whoever posted the news of Clifton Karhu! Clifton was the
teacher of MY teacher, Bill Paden, who died two years ago. I believe they
shared many characteristics, including strong individual temperaments,
though Clifton was better known. Both moved to Japan after WWII and embraced
Japanese culture. Bill moved back to New York, where he taught woodblock at
NYU and privately.

I must thank Baren Forum again for connecting so many woodblock artists and
so much useful information. I appreciate the links to the woodblock
community very much!! Thank you Dave, Mike, Barbara, and the host of others
who keep Baren Forum and Baren Mall going!

Best wishes for MY MONTH to all,
