Hi Jeanne, do you know the model no of your hydraulic press? I couldn't find
anything on the website that looked like what you described.

what is the maximum size prints you can make with this?

Peter

Harbor Freight has Hydraulic presses. They are , I think regular car jacks. But with a little imagination you can adjust them so they can print.
Mine cost me a whole $69. 00

If you e mail me, I can send you the pictures of the press after my husband made some changes for printing.

Hi Everyone,

Question from a list newbie.... are the card exchanges (such as the Chinese New Year cards that have been discussed) for people who carve woodblocks only? Are folks who carve linoleum also able to participate? I was just wondering if they are media-specific.

Many thanks. :o)

Carve away, Jen... I'd say any relief form is great. If you can get a potato or carrot to cooperate that's grate... opps... great, too. I had the same question about linocuts when I first joined Baren and the woodies were exceptionall gracious at welcoming the lino set.

Jen

The New year cards are not media-specific......and also not limited to
woodcut/lino....in the past people have done engravings, etchings, etc...so
anything goes except computer printed cards (although you can mix in
computer and handpulled techniques)....I guess anything handpulled
goes...you can read the details on the exchange page:

I have been working with one of our members who make our annual card
exchanges happen. We are trying to discover what is truly going on????

I mailed out a large number of my pig cards with one of our postal clerks,
in clear bags, and the charge was 39 cents per card. I went back today to
send another and got another clerk, a friend and neighbor, she said they
were an extra 13 cents because the clear bags will not go through the
machine. I came home and looked and grabbed 4 cards in clear bags that went
through the postal system for 39 cents, they were year of the pig cards.
Interesting. She also said maybe things were vanishing because people saw
them along the way and liked them and took them. Interesting comment.

So, can those of you who have already told me you sent me a card and I did
not have you on my list of recipients send me off list the method of mailing
that you used??? Most of you folks are good people who I can trust and are
faithful Baren members, so let me know please.
