Dear Gillyin,
Hooray for you! You are such a great printmaker. I know those kids benefitted from your instruction. Kids have such great energy, it really transmits to the teacher. I love teaching kids. I even love teaching English to kids. I taught printmaking to some second graders years ago. I even researched the school theme in printmaking for them. Next thing I knew, I got a packet of thank you letters from them. I thought, Oh, my gosh, I am going to be a teacher.

Oh my god, three letters to Baren in one day! I must have lost my mind. I
was just remembering how I did not want to miss the first etching lesson at
San Francisco State. I had had surgery on my wrist. I could not drive. My
husband brought me to class so I would not miss anything. They let me out of
the hospital too soon! So now, when I get hit with those painkiller drugs,
whatever they are, I make a beeline for the etching materials. It's like an
unconscious deja-vu kind of thing. The local people want me to get rid of
all my acid! I talk about getting hit like it's an everyday thing, but I
live next to a refinery, so it almost is. That's a high price to pay for my
beautiful view of the Bay. Oh well. Everyone has their cross to bear, I
guess. I just have to remind myself to put on my safety glasses, gloves,
gas mask, and turn the fan on to blow the acid fumes in the other direction,
and be careful not to have anything lying in my path that I can trip over.
Or just give that nice expensive Ferric Chloride tank to someone else and
hang with the plastic instead.

Thanks for the input: I will consider exchange prints an open edition and
sell them if someone wants to buy.
