Maria,

It is good to hear from your perspective that copies of art work are really
not hurting the hand pulled print market. You are out there day after day
talking with and dealing with the public. I would wonder though that the
time to make copy prints and mat them might be time better spent creating
artWORK.

I do think it would be fun though to run a card line and maybe a bookmark
line, mostly for those wanting something when they are vacationing. Maria,
you are doing festivals, while I am in an area where people vacation.
People who go on vacation often want to take home a souvenier, if I can
provide that for them than I am the one who gets the dollars not the local
gift shop. Perhaps what one does would depend on ones market. Also
remember that even if it is a copy, you own that image, period. You did the
blood sweat and tears to produce it. So, how can it be "wrong" to make
money from that image any way that you can?? I merely wondered if copy would
make people not buy originals, guess though if you are into art and not just
a picture you will buy art. One thing we have said before, part of our jobs
is to educate, the more people we teach about what we do the more art they
will want to buy.

Hi all,

If anyone's interested there's a "Hopkinson of Finsbury" proofing press for
sale at ebay.co.uk. Link here: http://tinyurl.com/2mv434

Nowt to do with me, by the way -- I just spotted it doing the usual
coffee-break searches.

It looks like a big, mean beast. You'd need a truck and, I suspect, lots of
fodder and a fenced-off paddock.

cheers,

Not to mention space on a steam freighter to transport it from Old
Blighty to the Colonies.

Blimey, she's a beauty isn't she! I could have been sort of tempted but
I don't have anywhere for anything that big, not even a garage. I'm
watching it anyhow.

Hi all, (and apologies for cross-posting)

There is a stack of wood engraving and wood cut equipment on ebay uk if
anyone's interested. I've got all the tools I'm liable to need but I'm
tempted by one of the multi tools.
