Hi folks,

The list of personal blogs currently tracked (
) is getting a bit out of hand and with many blogs which are primarily
non-woodblock related. We also think for some the owners are no longer
Baren members.......

So we are going to redo the list soon and we are asking if you are a Baren
member and your blog is primarily woodblock related to please send me a
note so that we can continue to track your updates. Send email to me
directly or use the Baren Council contact list (select blog manager) at :

For reference, sites/blogs currently being checked are:

Dear Printmakers,

The Portland (Oregon,USA) Art Museum is packed with prints. I just visited
the Chuck Close exhibit and it is marvelous. The massive prints are
impressive to be sure, but the museum also includes the work behind the work, the
stencils, woodblocks and plates are also on display so that the public is really
well informed on the wonderous variety of ways prints come into being. As
if that weren't enough the print gallery is host to the work of Leonard
Baskin, so powerful and energetic. My favourite of these were his portraits of his
10 favorite artists. Very great stuff. If you are in the area I highly
recommend attending these exhibits.

Drawing, and printing some beautiful Chinese Lanterns today.

Congratulations on getting through that. I think I'd be a proper mess if my
eyes started troubling me...

I'm also with you on the not-owning-a-press. In my case it's because life's
been taking me all over the place. The longest I've been at any one address
(or on any one continent, for that matter) in the last five years, is a
year. Makes getting set up for art a bit of a challenge. Particularly, as
I'm partial to sculpture. Thank goodness for woodblock or I'd be lost!
