I wouldn't normally post this on the list but I'm having the devil's own job
finding something in the UK. Perhaps a US or Canadian member could point me
the right way?

I keep my carving tools in a wooden box. It needs securing from small prying
fingers. The best way would be one of those miniature brass hasp/staple sets
that will take a small padlock. Trouble is I can't seem to find one in the UK
online hardware stores!

Can anyone suggest a good company to try on your side of the water? Please
contact me off-list if you do...

Many thanks!

One note about reduction printing... occasionally when reducing a
block from a large area to a very small area, say in the center of
what used to be the large area, the support surface is cut away.
Normally there would be uncut block relatively close to your printing
area so you don't need to worry about the dampened paper flopping
into the cut away part. Whenever this unfortunate event occurs, I
call it, "falling off the block" and I've ruined quite a few prints
over the years with my carelessness in letting it happen. It's just
another good reason to make sure that baren is always held flat and
parallel to the block.

Have fun!

Thanks David (B) for the information about Blogger labels. It all sounds pretty simple. I'm going to post a progress report on my Exchange 34 print in the next few days, so I'll make sure I continue to add the label I'm already using:

Woodblock Prints

I'll use that label for every post I write that is woodblock related and may be of interest to fellow Forum readers. Is that OK?
When I next post an Animation related entry I'll label that "Animation" and fingers crossed, Baren Forum will skip it.

I like this filtering idea as it keeps Baren Forum specifically for Print issues.

Thanks again,

Mark.

Hi David
Lee Valley Tools in Ottawa, Canada has a huge hardware catalogue they
publish annually. There's lots of hasps and hinges, etc. I'm sure it's all
online at their website.

Mark,

Checking the Blogger documentation, I see that their software seems to
have issues with Labels that are more than one word in length:
http://groups.google.com/group/blogger-help-troubleshoot/browse_thread/
thread/b76eb57c4b4b24e7/115744291bfb9792?q=label+feed#115744291bfb9792

Might be best if you stick to a single word it seems ... Maybe
'printmaking', or 'prints', or 'woodblocks' or something ...
