I have just finished printing my first engraving of the year, a bookplate on the theme of "Winter In England". This is one of for prints, one for each season, that were commissioned from four artists by Piet Meijers. This is quite special to me as it features one of my favourite views - Ely Cathedral as seen from the lane that winds down from our house. The image is 3 x 4 inches. Here it is:

Winter In England

Engraved Block

I also made a short movie that shows the print developing

All the Best,

Andy

You reversed the block images in that movie? Do you also sketch
'backwards', or reverse that part after creating the image?

Too right. I think you've done yourself a great favour in any case -- the
wealth of experience with the other prints has made you able to seize the
chance when an idea takes you. Fingers crossed that it becomes a regular
occurrence for you -- I'd love to see more like the 'River in Winter'.

Really interesting to see how you developed a treatment of the subject...

Bleh, looking out from the window here, all I see is the A34 and some
flooding. Not so inspiring :-)

Exchange #36 has a coordinator!
Please a round of applause for Carole Baker, the official Exchange#36

One more thing, please help my tired eyes and point out misspellings and
other foolishness on the exchange gallery pages. It helps immensely, really.

Enjoy!

Heather...

I'm late with the other 'winter' print but will have that to you very soon (next week). Please sign me up for the Spring exchange as well. I'm really enjoying designing the four seasons.
