I agree. I have done a number of reduction prints on dry Rives BFK paper
using Aqua Kolor waterbased inks and have done at least 7 layers without any
problem.

Jan, good reminder about postage. In the US we are blessed with one of the
finest postal services in the world and the costs are not as high as many
other places. We need to be aware of what some of our international members
face when they do an exchange and be a little flexible and certainly
tolerant.

CUTTING COMMENT:
The other day I was sharpening my knives, including my new hanga knife. My
husband looked at my knife and said the point was getting a bit curved, I
looked more carefully and yes, just a tad. I said, geez, guess I will have
to be more careful sharpening it. He than commented that perhaps it was not
the sharpening but rather the way I was using the knife. He said you have
more than a tip there, you have the whole blade. I thought, yes, okay, next
time I use it I will watch more closely how I am using it. Guess what?? He
was right I was relying on the tip more than the whole blade! I started
using more of the blade and gads it sure worked better. The cuts were
faster and deeper and all went faster. That is why there are different
lenghts to a hanga knife, the cuts can be longer when you are doing larger
images or smaller when you are doing smaller images, duh!

Cut, print.

Sarah, thanks for the reply. No, I was using the water based Akua ink, and they were way to transparent for what I want to do. I just couldnt get get past five colors. Did I mention that I am doing reduction printing? I have never used the dispersed pigments. I only just learned about them from a discussion someone had in the last week, but it sounded like they were pretty transparent. I want totally opaque. I would love to hear more of what you and others do and have experienced.
