Hello, I vote Voyages.
Maybe the fool can be incorporated in our desire to explore new things in the voyages.

That's *an* OED definition, Leigh. In my recent edition's reference there's no
mention of mental disability or use of the word 'simpleton'.

A lot of words have one negative dictionary definition, but that needn't rule
out the use of all their other senses. Otherwise we'd have to sit down and
reinvent the language, which is at best a dangerous parlour game in a society
that's supposed to value free speech. Whose judgement would we be forced to
accept?

I'd trust people here to have the good sense to stay away from belittling
mental illness without suggesting we self-censor.

Sorry for the rant, but...

I certainly agree about the danger of having 30 harlequins through the post --
wouldn't lead to much variety!

In any case, I'd prefer 'voyage' over 'fool' :-)

Thanks Benny for articulating better than I could about the value of fools.
I find it absurd that anyone could consider the fool "politically
incorrect", but then I think that the current obsessiveness with political correctness
is absurd and counterproductive in itself.

These are crazy times indeed, and a sense of humor and reminder to have
perspective on things is seriously needed. The role of the fool is a welcome and
necessary one.

then again, maybe I'm just being foolish :)

best wishes and happy printing,
Sarah

I hope I'm not too late for my two cents...If FOOL is selected for the
theme I will be able to participate in this exchange since I'm already
working on the blocks. I'm currently working on the Fool tarot card in my
masters thesis project It would be a small image (4x6"), but I can print
it on the appropriate sized paper for the exchange. It will also be my
second Hanga print since bootcamp...
