Such sad news. Thank you, Barbara, for all that you shared about your
experiences with Wanda during her last days. I know that you two were
very good friends, so my thoughts are with you as well as with
Wanda's family and loved ones. Take good care of yourself.

This is so sad. But it was good that her dear friends and family were with
her when she crossed over into the forest.

I was saddened to hear the news but it is a comfort to know that Wanda was surrounded by the love of family and friends. This is all that any of us can hope for.

I only knew Wanda through her work and her images spoke well for her; she had a sensitive eye.

Reading Barbara's post, a real inspiration, my vote for the next exchange - if I am not too late - goes for "Journey".

Wanda's presence on the Forum, and now her "moving on", makes me
realize that although most of us have never met, we are in many ways
a family. I am so grateful to be a part of this family of
printmakers and to have met Wanda through this group. So many of us
were graced by Wanda's warm spirit . Not only will she be traveling
with the wind, but also she'll be living in the prints she left
behind for us.
Journey on ...

I am so sad to hear of the news of Wanda, I don't know what to say. I am sorry that I never met her in person, but I feel fortunate to have known her for a number of years through the forum and through her wonderful work.

what a dear spirit she was.
I know we all will remember her fondly.

Subject: [Baren 35492] Exchange #37
Send Message: To this poster

Exchange #37 OFFICIALLY opens April 1st at 3:00pm GMT time. That would be
later today for some of you still sleeping and tomorrow for others.

For your inconvenience and my sanity, I have eliminated the "submit" button
until the clock strikes 3pm GMT.
Sign up form is here: http://barenforum.org/exchange/exchange_sign-up.html

You may drool until 3gmt at which time I will upload the "live" sign up
page. You can go there and wait and wait and refresh your browser at 3pm
GMT.

Here's the scoop:
Note: the actual moment of startup has been selected in order that the
largest possible number of [Baren] members will be awake. Given the global
range of our group this is difficult, but the huge width of the Pacific
Ocean gives us a 'window' of opportunity; while the Pacific sleeps, the rest
of the world is awake. So here is a rough guide to the time... 3:00 pm GMT
is about 5 am in Honolulu, 8 am in Los Angeles, 10 am in Chicago and Mexico,
11 am in New York, noon for Brazilians, 4 pm in London, 6 pm in Israel and
Athens, afternoon/evening for those in Europe and the Middle East, 11 pm in
Hong Kong and Perth, Australia, midnight in Japan and 1 am on the 2nd in
Sydney, Australia...

When calculating the exact moment of sign-up for your particular time zone,
please remember that GMT does not change during the summer; it is a
year-round stable base of reference. If your local zone does use summer
time, you will have to make the necessary adjustment ... If you are confused
about how to find the correct time, please visit the Time Zone Converter
page for assistance http://www.timezoneconverter.com/cgi-bin/tzc.tzc/.

IMPORTANT: In view of recent sad events, I have overriden the vote and made
the people's second choice the theme for this exchange. Thus the exchange
theme will be: VOYAGES or JOURNEYS
This way those who wish to make a print in memoriam and dedicate the
exchange to Wanda Robertson, will be able to do so. Those who wish to
interpret the theme otherwise, may also do so.

For the record, voyages was a second to fools only by three votes. Anyone
having a problem with my executive decision can contact me at:

I receive the Forum in it's daily digest form, so only really found out the sad news last night, and via an email reply on another subject from Barbara.

Like many of us who live thousands of miles away, I only got to meet Wanda through the Forum and a few personal emails, and recall that she was the first member to welcome me when I joined. I'm proud to have also participated in Exchange 33 with her. The delicate print Wanda produced takes on a new poignancy now.

Her love of printmaking and joy in being able to share her knowledge through the Baren Forum is an inspiration to us all.
