Gillyn,

Your piece is beautiful, it really takes advantage of the wood. I
think you will have to experiment with a power carver to see how much
it would leave behind. I think with practice and control you could
achieve something similar. It would also probably depend on the speed
the tool uses. I have not used mine in some while so these are just
thoughts.

Thanks for the tip Charles. I went to the Lee Valley site and found that the tool is only about $150.00. I consider that pretty reasonable for a quality precision tool and not at all too much to pay for a tool that will allow someone with hand problems to continue making prints!

I think combining the wood burner with a knife will allow for tight detail with cut marks for vitality.
