Hello All - I'm replying to this as I don't know where else to go - my ISP
provider disconnected me in error yesterday afternoon and all emails sent
to me wre apparently 'returned to sender'- service is back now and nothing
from Baren has shown up which is unusual - have I been cut off from Baren
mail by any chance??

thanks to whoever replies to this -

Thanks Graham - Toronto's rather muggy right now - don't really like the
city but work hard here between stays in the UK and France -
The West Coast is wonderful tho' - I would happily live there!

Heres the link again. Click on the image to make it bigger. No eagles here just fish.

I bought some cat litter today and I am going to try it tomorrow first thing. The block
is already warped so no turning back now. I will use garbage bags to wrap the block up in.

Currently experimenting with body powder to help get the oil out of the prints. By using it on
the backside of the print the front would not get chalked up. The newsprint didn't work that well
over the past three days.
If the small test print looks good then I am going with powder.

Thanks for all of the suggestions. Next time I will seal things up more diligently.

Hello Friends.

I have a question regarding oil going past the image on paper.

Is it possible to remove ALL of the oil "halo"? It seems to me that would be
an impossiblilty, with an invisible now but very likely discoloration over
time? Would this make the print age earlier to the point of nonviability? I
wonder if the last stages would be to have some absorbant, particulate or perhaps a
preservation bath for the print if it's to last a very long time?

Wonder what a museum conservator would say to all this.

Exchange #37 and 37a are all finally here after a mail delay (not the
participant’s fault). Seems the Post Office mangled a package but somehow
managed to spare the prints inside. Anyhow, I had received notice and had to
go pick it up and promised not to sue and blah blah.

I was waiting to hear from the coordinator to get their act together and
tell me that they had the colophon all ready for me when I suddenly
realized! I AM the coordinator! Sigh.
SO! Anyhow, all here now and all neatly collated. Seriously I am in the
process of finishing the colophon(s) and although I tried to mail out by
today, I just couldn’t do it. Realistically I should have everything ready
to mail on Tuesday, due to the US Labor Day weekend, a few gardening
projects, a convalescent feral cat (some dog bit his butt nearly off) and a
lingering thumb sprain (me, not the cat).

Exchange #38 is well on its way, please be sure to work on your prints so
they arrive at the coordinator’s by the deadline.
Keep this page handy for information, address to send prints to and
deadlines.

Print, dangit! Print!!! Ouch, that last exclamation point hurt my thumb...
