I just wanted to post a thankyou to everyone who commented on my blog when I posted about wrapping my Baren! I'm glad I'm not the only one with baren wrapping jitters! The hardest thing for me was having to unwrap my Murisaka and see the insides and not know whether or not I was going to be able to get the thing back on. Also, we have an expression on the farm, wrapping the other side of the baren while holding the already twisted handle from the wrapped side was like "putting socks on a rooster"! Thanks again guys!

Hi Tina and Bareners,

I haven't seen that anything is happening with the Swap Shop so I wanted to
make a couple proposals. I read the old guidelines on the link Dave provided
but this is not at all what I envisioned...

What I'd like to propose is that the swap shop be broken into two different
sections. One would be like the old one, 5+ prints of a specified size with
one going to an archive. The second would be a one-for-one, no size
restriction (except for return mailer provided), no archiving, no waiting
for a like number of prints to be available. And, perhaps this is why the
old swap shop died, too many requirements and too many participants
required.

As Dave said, maybe times and participation has changed to support the old
system, but I would like to at least offer an alternative to the old system.
I know I would more likely participate in a one-for-one exchange than in a
size restricted, gonna-be-posted-online-and-in-an-archive exchange. Just my
taste at the moment.

Any support for EITHER one of these forms of swapping?

Peace,
Eileen

I have not forgotten the request for the information
about the storage drawers....
Very busy time around here and after we finish
getting the firewood done and the 7 logs boarded
up by a portable mill I will be in good shape to follow
through with my offer. About a week +
