Lana, Diana and Dave,

I enjoy reading your blogs so much - of course, they always make me
want to run and grab a knife and some wood and get carving! All of
your projects are grand, and Lana and Dave, I look forward to seeing
the completed projects. I've been a little waylaid from the carving,
but still working. My blog does not contain any woodcuts, but if you
are interested in my latest endeavors there are a couple of new
entries. The fence post does involve some carving - just no
printing! And, the second one is a print, but not a woodblock - ;-)
And, now I'm into painting birds. So, no woodblocks until the weather
evens out and the arthritis settles down. I will have to carve &
print vicariously through the rest of you...

Cheers ~

re: the email to have your lists listed on another list

there are bareners who dont even keep an official organized contact list

let alone multiple ones

there are people who dont have a cell phone

even people who don't own computers and go to the library to get online

i am not interested in receiving offers

i am doing woodblocks

the offer is computer related , not woodblock related ,

and as such ,

it does not belong on the daily digest

my opinion from the woods of Maine

looking out my window envisioning my exchange print

Hi Lana and all,

I've always enjoyed your blog and reading printmaking blogs in general. I
haven't been the most active with mine the past year but I am working to get
back into it as I work to find my art groove again. I know it will involve
printmaking somehow, but I think I need a new and fresh direction.

Dear list,

Due to matters outside Baren and effective immediately, I have resigned my
post as Exchange Manager.
As soon as the Baren Council sees fit, they will choose a new manager and
announce to the list.

Exchange 41 has had some drop outs so please check the information page if
you were on the waiting list. I will leave the announcements in the very
capable hands of the coordinator.

Carry on!
Maria

Dear Maria,
You have done the best for Baren. Even my husband, who is not a Baren
member, appreciates your job. You have been very unifying also, under some
trying circumstances
Best wishes and love to you whatever you do!

Maria... You are tops, have always helped us so much... and we totally understand that you have a life beyond Baren and us. Thank you for all you've done... your shoes will be hard to fill.

I had a marathon session today, adjusted the seagull and concentrated on the courtyard scene. I had to get the magnifier out for the seated figure, my eyes aren't as good as they once were. Note the radioactive-eyed cat in the window! What do you think it's seen? I think I'll leave the uncut courtyard wall behind the seated figure as it is, as deep contrast. I'll decide for sure after first proof.

I've also moved one seagull down away from the distant houses and added another to the left. I don't think I've mentioned the size of the block but if you're interested, it's 9cm x 12.7cm (about 3 1/2" x 5" ).

It's been ages since I've worked with such enthusiasm and reluctance to pack up at the end of the session. The temptation to just cut one more passage........ but that must be it for today. My eyes are complaining and I have a nice glass of red waiting for me in the evening sun of the courtyard; a bit like this couple on the block. Hopefully no predatory seagulls lurking, though!
