Daniel...

I've been reading everyone's response to your query and, in typical fashion, it's taken a bit to get on my realization of how I'm inspired.

I am an avid photographer with thousands of photos. So when I want an idea, I start thumbing through those (actually most are on discs now). I also have a 'tear file'. Whenever I read any kind of magazine, I tear out anything I think might be useful for a future art piece. It could be a cloud, a body position, an animal. These I've got loosely filed by subject... animals, people, Puerto Rico, the ocean, etc.

So when I'm at a loss for inspiration, I start going through these. Sometimes I've got something specific in mind but often I will pull out three or four images that start me going. In fact, I've been moving my studio and I've just come across some project ideas that had gotten shelved which I'm brushing off and refining.

When I use my camera I'm always thinking of possible future use in prints or paintings. In fact, it is the rare photo that is taken of family or friends... kind of strange when you think of it...

Subject: Social Networks & sharing info...What's the fuzz all about ?
Posted by: Julio

Although our members come from all corners of the world here at barenforum.org we have always prided ourselves in being a very close-knit community of printmakers, a real family. The latest forum threads about the Baren group expanding to Facebook and the real need to upgrade our way of sharing information has brought some really animated discussion to the group.

These very short and to-the-point videos from the folks at Commoncraft explain some of the new ways people and groups are now sharing information online. While the examples given may be off-topic, think of how we as printmakers and artists can use these new tools to share & promote our cause.

What if some of these same tools and concepts were available to us here at Baren ? Some of us here are of the opinion that the future of Baren lies somewhere in this direction. The Baren experience grows !
